Configure user preferences
Set 4ACE account preferences for appearance, simulation defaults, analysis, data tables, and notifications.
Use Account settings to choose how 4ACE opens and how new simulations start for the selected team. This is useful when race engineers repeat the same vehicle, circuit, ambient, driver, solver, and export settings across a test plan.
Before you start
- Open Account from the user menu.
- Select the Settings tab.
- Select the team you want to configure before editing team-scoped defaults.
- Save changes before switching away.
If no team is selected, 4ACE shows No team selected and blocks team-scoped account settings.
Preference areas

Set simulation defaults
- Open Account.
- Select Settings.
- Select Defaults.
- Choose default entities for Vehicle, Circuit, Ambient, and Driver.
- Set solver and run defaults such as step time, export rate, simulation type, start velocity, start gear, laps, duration, start position, brake-to-throttle threshold, brake point initial shift, throttle increment, and brake increment.
- Select Save settings.
Entity pickers include No default. The circuit picker includes team circuits and public circuits.
When the save succeeds, 4ACE shows Settings saved.
Set notification channels
- Open Account.
- Select Settings.
- Select Notifications.
- Turn Email or In app on or off for each notification type.
- Select Save settings.
Notification types currently shown are:

Set analysis and table defaults
- Open Account.
- Select Settings.
- Select Analysis/Data.
- Set Rows per page for tables.
- Select a default analysis layout, or choose No default.
- Select Save settings.
Validation rules

| Team | Required before saving settings. |
| Rows per page | Must be a whole number greater than 0. |
| Step time | Must be 0 or greater when set. |
| Number of laps | Must be a whole number greater than 0 when set. |
| Duration | Must be greater than 0 when set. |
| Export rate | Must be greater than 0 when set. |
| Analysis layout | Must refer to a valid saved layout when set. |
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| Could not load settings | Select Retry. |
| Refresh failed | 4ACE is showing cached settings. Retry if you need the newest values. |
| Picker options failed | Some pickers could not load options. Saved IDs are preserved. Retry before changing defaults. |
| Save settings is disabled | Make a change first, wait for loading to finish, and confirm a team is selected. |
| Validation error appears | Check the field rules above, then save again. |
