SIMRunning Simulations
Running simulations
Choose FastSim, OpenSim, or Batch Simulations for 4ACE SIM runs.
Running simulations is the SIM workflow step where prepared inputs become results. Use this section when you need to choose the right simulation type, submit a run, or generate a batch of runs.
Simulation types
| Type | Use it for | Required setup inputs |
|---|---|---|
| FastSim | Circuit-based lap simulation. | Vehicle, Circuit, Ambient, Driver. |
| OpenSim | Open simulation without circuit path. Use prescribed driver-control timelines. | Vehicle, Ambient, Driver, Driver Input. |
| Batch Simulations | Generate and queue many simulation designs from parameter ranges. | Same setup as FastSim or OpenSim, plus design-space parameters. |
Choose a workflow
FastSim
Run a circuit-based lap simulation with vehicle, circuit, ambient, and driver inputs.
OpenSim
Run an open simulation from Driver Input timelines instead of a circuit.
Batch Simulations
Define parameter ranges, generate designs, and queue multiple simulation runs.
Before you run
- Select the correct team.
- Confirm the team has enough credits.
- Prepare the required vehicle, driver, ambient, and circuit or Driver Input.
- Use clear names and tags so the run can be found later in tables and analysis.
What happens after submission
After a simulation is added, it appears in the Simulations table. Status can be Pending, Running, Completed, Failed, Canceled, or Timeout.
Open a simulation row to review:
| Tab | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Summary | Metadata, resource usage, performance metrics, and lap table when data exists. |
| Analysis | Telemetry charts, lap selection, layouts, and simulation comparison. |
| Configuration | Simulation settings, circuit, ambient, and vehicle snapshot used for the run. |
| Processing | Processing metrics, resource history, and logs. |
